Barbara Brown Taylor writes “…new life starts in the dark. Whether it is a seed in the ground, a baby in the womb, or Jesus in the tomb, it starts in the dark.” Darkness is often used as a metaphor to refer to the hardest days and seasons of our life, a place we all inevitably find ourselves. In this mini-retreat, and as we enter the longest nights of the year, we will consider how to stay awake as we look for the new life that abounds in the generative darkness.
