Epiphany is bidding us take notice as the wise men once did.
A star rose in the east inviting these far away magi to notice a new kingdom coming. It’s light bid them come, see and worship a newborn king in a land not their own.
The Epiphany season celebrates the revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ. This season begins on Epiphany Sunday commemorating the revelation of Jesus to those outside the Jewish world as represented by the Magi. The season continues with attention focused on the revelation of Jesus’ divinity revealed in his baptism and on his miracles and teaching. Epiphany meaning “appearance” or “manifestation” is an invitation to notice His kingdom coming.
As we enter the Epiphany season, as we begin 2021, we are invited to notice Jesus appearing to us. How is He inviting us near? What is His light shining upon? How might He be inviting us in this new year to manifest Him in our lives and in our land?
On January 15th and 16th (choose one retreat date), we will be taking some time in this in-person retreat to look towards the Light and search out the ways He is inviting us near to Him and to dream with Him the ways that the life of Christ may want to be manifest in us and through us in the coming year.
