Wait, You’re Here, Too?!?: Welcoming the Unexpected Guest in Spiritual Direction invites spiritual directors to explore the unanticipated dynamics that arise in direction—moments when transference, countertransference, conflict, politics, fear, shame, or even Rumi’s “crowd of sorrows” enter the room. Through practical tools, reflective practices, and real-life case studies, participants will learn how to recognize, welcome, and wisely respond to their own “unexpected guests” in ways that deepen the sacred work of direction and support their own resilience as directors.
