SUMMARY:Wild Edge of Sorrow - Men's Grief Cohort
DESCRIPTION:Thursdays\, 6:30–8:30 PM\nJanuary 15th- February 12th\nBoulder\, CO\nFacilitated by: Will Forsythe\, Adam Bailon & Steve Gioielli \n“Grief is not a burden we carry; it is a profound act of soul.\nIt is the soul’s acknowledgment of what we hold most dear.”\n— Francis Weller\, The Wild Edge of Sorrow \nThis in-person men’s cohort is a place to bring the grief you carry — in its rawness\, its silence\, its mystery. Over five evenings together\, we will gather in a Circle of Trust® to make space for sorrow\, witness one another without judgment\, and remember what it means to grieve in community. \nRooted in the soul-centered work of Francis Weller and grounded in Parker J. Palmer’s Courage & Renewal® approach\, this circle offers structure\, depth\, and safety — so you don’t have to walk with your grief alone. \nOur Intentions\nWe will come together to:\nHonor grief in its many forms — from death and divorce to disconnection\, identity loss\, and collective sorrow. \nPractice Habits of the Heart: deep listening\, inner trust\, hospitality to difference\, and holding paradox \nEngage Courage & Renewal® practices: Touchstones\, honest open questions\, poetry\, and somatic reflection \nReclaim grief as a communal\, life-affirming act — not something to fix\, but something to feel and befriend. \nEngage in simple rituals that allow our souls the space to process the grief together. \nAll who identify as men are welcome. We will strive to create an inclusive\, trauma-informed\, and spacious container for diverse identities and lived experiences. \n  \nWhat to Expect: \nReadings from The Wild Edge of Sorrow \nFacilitated ritual and embodied practices \nStructured Circle of Trust® dialogue and reflection \nOpportunities for small-group sharing and storytelling \nSilence and time to listen — to yourself and others \nThis is not therapy. This is older than therapy. It is a return to what men have always needed: witnessing\, depth\, and presence. \nCohort Cost (Sliding Scale): \nIf cost is a barrier\, please contact us — no one will be turned away for lack of funds\nWe offer flexible pricing so the circle remains accessible: \n$250 – Barrier-Reduced Rate \n$300 – Full Rate \n$350 – Generosity Rate (your generosity helps others join who otherwise could not) \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Spiritual Directors' Book Club: 12 Months to Your Ideal Private Practice
DESCRIPTION:Starting in the new year\, Jamie Bonilla will be leading a book club for spiritual directors wanting to tend their practice in particular ways. Jamie is no expert\, but has been processing these things for a few years and would love to invite you to join her here! Her copy of the book\, “12 Months to Your Ideal Private Practice” by Lynn Grodsky\, has its fair share of ‘ew’s and ‘no\, thank you!’s in the margins of various chapters—like the ones about marketing or accounting—and yet she and other Anam Cara directors have found it very helpful as a way to consider their practices\, tending to the growing edges\, and caring for those who are a part of their practices (including directees!) by attending to some particular aspects of things that might or might not come naturally to us. \nWe will be meeting monthly throughout 2026\, and looking at one of the 12 chapters each time. There is homework in this book club! But it brings out so many helpful things along the way\, and we’d love to have you join us! Our first meeting will be January 23 at 10am PT\, and we will meet mostly on those fourth Fridays (shifting earlier in November and December because of the holidays!). \nCost is $10/month (so $120 for the year—can be billed once or monthly!).\nFree for Anam Cara Peregrini Spiritual Directors! \nEmail jamie@anamcara.com for more info!

SUMMARY:Reading the Gospels with Your Imagination
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop you’ll learn a simple practice for using your imagination to encounter Jesus in Scripture. Let Jesus catch your eye and ask “What about you?” \nC.S. Lewis argued that “reason is the natural organ of truth\, but imagination is the organ of meaning.” He knew that we don’t truly grasp something until it lives in our imagination. Stories bypass our defenses and connect with our souls before we can intellectualize our way around them. \nGod can teach us with facts. But he meets us in our imagination. \nIn this workshop you’ll: \n– Learn how imagination is a God-given tool for encountering him in Scripture.\n– Walk through a simple 5-step method of reading with your imagination.\n– Practice the method and ask your questions.\n– Leave with a complete worksheet and list of passages to start with. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Renovate: A Refresher Cohort for Spiritual Directors
DESCRIPTION:Renovate: Tools\, Support and Skills for Refreshing your Spiritual Direction Practice \n\n\nRenovate is a yearlong cohort for trained spiritual directors who are looking for additional training\, tools\, and support for their practice. Led by Anam Cara trained spiritual directors and supervisors\, Rachel Reed and Jeremy Frye\, this year long training includes monthly online training modules\,gathering for praxis\, as well as small group supervision. \nOver the course of the year we will take time to define spiritual direction\, discuss the role of supervision in the practice of spiritual direction\, learn and practice helpful (or practical) skills\, look at ethical dilemmas and relational roles\, explore what it means to be a non-manipulative presence and approach the topic that nearly all of us are uncomfortable with; the business of your spiritual direction practice. \n\n\nCohort is limited to 20 participants. \nHere’s what past participants are saying about Renovate: \n\n “Renovate has been a wonderful year of “continuing education” for my spiritual direction practice. I have learned so much from the collective wisdom of our community and loved that each of us were trained as spiritual directors in different programs.” – Pace\n\n\n\n“I have thoroughly enjoyed and been enriched by the Renovate course this last year. Rachel and Jeremy’s presentation\, information and individual wisdom were extremely helpful and encouraging. I was able to hone my skills as a spiritual director\, learn new concepts\, tools and awarenesses that I had not learned in my initial training. I know I am a better spiritual director because of this course.” – Kim\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Renovate  has been a great experience this past year. After many years of practicing spiritual direction\, Jeremy\, Rachel\, and the cohort members have helped me to reconsider best practices\, refresh some skills\, and consider some new approaches. Practicing spiritual direction can feel like a lonely journey at times\, but this community was very gracious and supportive. I feel refreshed to chart my path forward practicing spiritual direction.”  – Shelley\n\n\n\n\n\n$150 Deposit to hold your seat covers the first month’s fee. \nEarly Bird Registration is $1800\, billed at $150 per month. \n$2400 after March 1\, 2025 billed at $200 per month. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Celtic Retreat in Daily Life
DESCRIPTION:The Retreat in Daily Life is a week-long contemplative journey that invites you into sacred attentiveness without leaving your ordinary life. Rooted in the rhythms of Lent and shaped by both the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius and the wisdom of Celtic Christianity\, this retreat offers a way of entering holy time while remaining fully present to work\, family\, and daily responsibilities. \nCeltic spirituality reminds us that God is not found only in removed or rarefied spaces\, but at thresholds and hearths\, along shorelines and kitchen tables\, in the wild places of the heart and the familiar contours of everyday life. The Retreat in Daily Life honors this vision by creating a gentle but intentional structure for prayer\, Scripture\, and spiritual companionship within the flow of your week. \nRather than offering more ideas about God\, this retreat is designed as a guided experience of God’s nearness and love—a way of learning to notice how Christ is already meeting you in the places you live and move each day. \nA Celtic Lenten Rhythm for the Week\nFebruary 22–28 \nThis year’s Retreat in Daily Life takes place during the first full week of Lent\, traditionally understood as a time of beginning\, return\, and re-orientation. Each day of the retreat follows a distinct prayer theme\, drawing from the movements of the Ignatian Exercises and embodied in the lives of Celtic saints whose witness helps us imagine faith as lived\, relational\, and grounded. \nEach day includes Scripture for prayer\, guidance for entering that day’s theme\, and a daily conversation with a spiritual director who listens with you for the movement of God. \nThere is an opening and closing session via zoom at noon mountain time on the 22nd and the 28th. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Water in the Wilderness: A Creative Lenten Journey
DESCRIPTION:Lent is less than two weeks away\, and Jamie Bonilla will be offering her Water in the Wilderness online retreat again\, for the length of that season\, if you’d like to join! It will consist of weekly reflections and blessings and creative practices\, along with daily word prompts for creativity and a six-week spiritual practice group! \nThe themes are around thirst in this parched land\, and the ways we lean in toward the water and sustenance that is being offered\, even here. The zoom group will be space for listening to Scripture—in Lectio Divina and/or Ignatian imaginative prayer. It is a place of presence—to our embodied souls\, to God-with-us-even-here\, to each other-in-process—and we hope it will be one cup of cold water in the dry and weary land we find ourselves. So\, if you have been sensing an invitation to Play and Presence this coming season\, we’d love to have you join! \nThe weekly group will meet on six Fridays at 12pm PT (2/27\, 3/6\, 3/13\, 3/20\, 3/27\, and 4/3) during the season of Lent\, and there will be space to process whatever is coming up in both the spiritual practices and in the season’s creative space\, etc. There is also space in the online platform for sharing the daily or weekly creativity that shows up along the way\, to witness each other in this process! \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Preparing for Renewal: A Lunch Time Lenten Mini-Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Traditionally\, Lent is a time for self-denial and fasting. What if instead\, we allowed it to be an invitation to a season of renewal? A springtime for the soul? What if we used these 40 days to live by grace toward a new beginning\, receiving Lent as a gift? \nPreparing for Renewal: A Lenten Mini-Retreat is a spacious time to prayerfully consider how you would like to enter the season of Lent. Through guided prayer\, reflection\, and conversation participants will leave the mini-retreat prepared to engage in the coming weeks leading up to Easter. \nJoin Holly Porter Phillips on February 12th at noon CT. \nRegister Here
